This monthly tutorial series for 2019 with Intelligent Life founder, Jeddah Mali, will look at the common issues we face and seek to decode and transform them using Natural Intelligence. Done regularly this practice can alleviate limiting patterns and give us effective tools for daily life.
Lack is such a pervasive concept in the human world. We are taught that everything (physical and immaterial) is in short supply. To counteract this, we set up a ranking system based on deserving, and getting ‘our’ share. Lack loses its hold over us when we tap into the provision of energy and take responsibility for how we interact with it in our minds and daily lives. We will explore how our being changes its programming from the experience of abundance.
Mistrust is a pervasive belief in the unreliability of self / others / world / life itself. The underlying pattern is one of insecurity, and because of this we feel vulnerable. We seek proof that it is safe to rely on ourselves, or let others in, or move towards what we really want in life. Conversely, when we trust we don’t need external evidence. We operate by completely different criteria for assessing who we are and how to move through life. These criteria are always based on our internal knowingness.
The word ego has come to be synonymous with an inflated sense of self, even though the origin of the word simply meant the awareness of an individuated self (neither good nor bad). We explore what it means to operate from a distorted sense of self, to cultivate self-importance over and above the needs of others. And how that leads to judgement, being right, indignation, stress and unhappiness. We connect to the real self which is at ease with its-self and others, and provides the basis for true confidence, ease and peace.
In September’s tutorial we examine the highs and lows of emotions, and how life can feel like a rollercoaster ride. We look at how drama can affect our relationship with ourselves and others. And we will develop a practice that allows us to find equilibrium and bring harmony into our emotional life.
Our desires can run over into more problematic states of being. We explore the mechanics of ‘wanting’ and how that seemingly innocent intention can develop into habits that drive our thinking and behaviour. We will develop a practice to become more balanced and self-reliant through inner nourishment.
When we experience repeated, or even momentary insecurity, it can be very unsettling. Insecurity breeds neediness, desire and longing. We believe that we cannot fulfil our own needs and look to others and our environment to do it for us. Ultimately, this only leads to further dependence. In order to become truly self-reliant, we need to find a sustainable source of security and reassurance.
Doubt is one of the most common, and most insidious, human experiences. Left unattended, it can consume our thinking, and become the default mindset. Overcoming doubt is one of the greatest freedoms we can give ourselves. In this tutorial, we will explore the mechanics of doubt and how to reside in a state of certainty and confidence.
All of us are prone to moments of irritation or feeling down. But what happens when this perception becomes our default setting? We explore how our framework to assess ourselves and life can be hijacked by limited thinking….and what we need to do to set it free again.
Shame is not something we experience every day, but when it does occur, it can leave a strong impression in our being that is hard to lift, even years later. Shame, however old, can be released and transformed, and in doing so we liberate a surprising amount of stuck energy.
