Integrating Pioneering Health Insights

This is the first article in a series from Alex Blindow. Axel has co-founded, co-owned and managed several construction, consultancy and IT companies. Due to a personal health crisis with chronic conditions he began deeply researching medical topics and has since become a bio-hacker, looking for ways to improve health and wellbeing by applying time saving efficient tweaks in everyday life. He now works with medical doctors on educational programmes that incorporate lifestyle changes into holistic and medically coached treatment protocols, diet and lifestyle courses.

Where are you at this point in your life? You must be a very special person. You would not be reading this if you were not on a journey to find out about life. In this article and in the series that will follow, I want to share with you my (constantly evolving) perspective on life, health and wellbeing, bringing you practical tips and hacks from the research we are currently developing in this field.

I’ve known Jeddah's work for nearly a decade now, having worked with her beautiful CD series from Seeds of Enlightenment to Infinite Grace, attended a number of her retreats, group facilitating courses and was on her 1:1 mentoring program. Jeddah also worked with my wife on the foundation of Intelligent Life. We have another special tie to Jeddah, she is the godmother of our 5 year old daughter.

For me, Jeddah's way to explain existence is second to none. Her teachings are pure and immediately resonated with me when I first came in contact with them. Her teachings have profoundly changed my perception of the world and the Universe we are living in. I know it has changed the view of many others, and if you are reading this, chances are high she has touched your life in a deep way too.

In the beginning it was difficult for me to let go of paradigms I was holding on to that didn't fit with new information coming in.

We are all on our individual journeys, more often than not our days are busy. Too busy to sit down, have some quality time with each other, connect and share our gems of learning. Gems we may have discovered ourselves or received along the path from others. In the coming blog posts, I am going to share some gems that changed my life.

It has been liberating to re-evaluate and replace parts of my internal map as I go.

What is your worldview? Mine has gotten changed a lot over time. In the beginning it was difficult for me to let go of paradigms I was holding on to that didn't fit with new information coming in. In the early years, I struggled to accept new paradigms and to let go. This has changed now.

On a meta-level, I now view my understanding of the world as a working hypothesis. My map is not fixed but constantly changing. The beliefs that shape my current view of how the world and the Universe works are now continually revisited and updated. Whether based on wrong assumptions, skewed emotional judgements or simply wrong conclusions, my perception has been fundamentally changed.

It has been liberating to re-evaluate and replace parts of my internal map as I go. This has made me very flexible. True, it often hurts for a moment to let go, but often this makes way for some portion of inner peace. There are many areas to my understanding that are in conflict with each other and not yet resolved. I accept I don't yet have an answer to everything. Maybe the answer will come to me in this lifetime and maybe not. That's ok. I'm on a lifelong quest.

There was a point in my journey where my energy levels were reduced to the extent that even small activities required a great deal of effort.

This process would not be possible without the help of my inner watcher, a resource that took years to train but has now become second nature since I started meditating some 20 years ago. My inner watcher alerts me almost instantly when unresourceful, “contracting" thought patterns and emotions are coming up, allowing me to respond early on.

I'm writing you in a state of good health with a clear mind. This has not always been the case. There was a point in my journey where my energy levels were reduced to the extent that even small activities required a great deal of effort. My brain turned to fog, I had almost non-existent short term memory, had trouble remembering words to a point that even small talk was a challenge, had difficulty orienting myself even in locations that were familiar to me, struggled with food-malabsorptions and experience many hormonal challenges.

A clear mind needs a healthy body

At the point my health crisis, I felt as though my whole body was disintegrating. I thought I would have to prepare for a nursing home. Yet all of this happened while my inner watcher was still on. This was fascinating and scary in equal measure.

I had always assumed that when I was old and frail I would meditate and here I was in the throws of a health crisis that was simulating the aging process in my body only to discover there was no energy available to me to meditate. It simply wasn’t possible. This was very disturbing and again I had to change the working hypothesis of my being. A clear mind needs a healthy body, or at least, as I found out, the detoxification process of the brain has to work well enough to keep the fog from ones brain.

I found my way out of this crisis by... looking for things that were binding and draining energy.

I found my way out of this crisis by analysing my lifestyle and looking for things that were binding and draining energy. The more of these I addressed, the more my intelligent immune system could take over again and assist with the remaining issues.

Through this personal journey and my research, I realised how much our modern lifestyle is straining us and what we can do to mitigate the effects of this in order to live an intelligent life. What we discovered is valuable for everyone living in our modern times, not just the ill, those entering pre-chronic conditions or seeking to better the aging process.

Many of these "hacks" are based on paradigm shifts from conventional wisdom.

What I want to share with you in the coming blog posts are the gems, the tips and tricks I found for myself that help to improve energy, regain health and live a better, you could say, intelligent, life. Many of these "hacks" are based on paradigm shifts from conventional wisdom. Yet my approach is science and evidence based. I'm now working with a team of MDs to elaborate educational programs and courses incorporating these lifestyle optimisations. I will share with you insights from those courses. My hope is that there is something in it for you and your loved ones that you can apply to your everyday life to increase your energy, focus, health and wellbeing.

My best wishes to you. I'm looking forward to starting this series.
